Computer Misuse Act
The Computer Misuse Act or CMA for short is a UK law which in its widest interpretation criminalises the act of using a computer system without prior consent or permission. The CMA has been further bolstered through the Police and Justice Act (creating and supplying articles, often software, which aids breach of CMA) and Serious Crime Acts (“splash damage”, EU standardisation and law enforcement exemptions).
